Simple English Language

Yes, we may have a few what we call "weasel words" around here, but our goal is very simple and it applies to the entire site - The use of simple English for an ease of understanding. It is catered for all people around the World to read and understand fully without the use of "folly, Bombastical, grandiloquent" language. This type of language is totally unnecessary and it's ultimately the same way of getting one's message across. We go straight to the point without the use of... How shall we put it, complicated language.

Information Reliability and Content

Below are a set of guidelines and disclaimers that you should read and understand before reading any of our articles.

All contents and structural analysis in Structural Facts are self-published research.

This simply implies that all content and information is through personal research which is obtained and through books and other reliable sources, compiled and self-written by us. Though in certain sections, the architect's blueprints are included to show certain verifiability. Unfortunately in most cases, a set of official building blueprints are difficult to find and might infringe copyright use. If such circumstances exist (though usually) reliable references are provided at the end of all articles for verfiability and as proof of evidence. These references are also added to proof "how and where we got hold the information from". In order words, all articles that we have researched and find attributes to reliable sources only.

All information are researched through various reliable, published sources.

Hardcover Books and Official "true", non-third party/mainstream websites that are written and explained thoroughly by an expert are used as reference and source. However, we still do keep an openmind of checking and reading through these published sources before we use them as a citation or source. We do thorough checking of these sources by comparing them with other reliable published sources, eg. Engineering Books from major publishing houses which usually contain blueprints and sketches, from the Mouth of the Architect/Engineer; which is, the design concept and brief from the engineer's/architect's design intention; these might be explained in books and his/her/architectural/engineering firm's official website.
We do not research content or even cite them as reliable sources through the following types of media:
Media Type Comments
Wikipedia Completely unreliable and to be avoided at all cost to be attributed as reliable source
Magazines Mainstream only. Eg. Architectural Digest, ASCE and other major publishing houses.
Newspapers Mainstream only
Blogs Obvious reasons; we do not allow any form of personal "Point of View" approach.
MySpace/Friendster A place full of advertising and totally unreliable research by users.
Personal Websites Ditto to Blogs and MySpace/Friendster comments.
Web/Discussion Forums Used for gathering pictures only. Not suitable as a reliable source spurred by users.
Other self research content Yes, ironic. It also applies to ourselves.

In most cases, we do not research and cite information from the internet; unless if sources are from major engineering and architectural organizations:

Emporis

Emporis is a large real estate data company. It publishes photos and compiles facts and data of skyscrapers World wide. However, some of these facts are not all edited and written by real working professionals that only specialises in the field of engineering and architecture. But being a well respected organization well known for its gathered and precise information, we have citations from Emporis - but to a minimum. The "mimimum", is still then checked thoroughly with other major established hardcover books for comparison of that "minimal" data. On an overall basis, not only with great respect to their quality management of data, we're also impressed with their partnership with CTBUH.

SkyscraperPage

The webmaster of SkyScrapers.org till now is an illustrator of the site. Like Emporis, the information given are edited by various individuals and editors. The information there might not be verified to be thoroughly precise. However, as such a well respected site for its credibility of information, we still cite certain sources from SkyscraperPage. - At a minimum.
